    Book Week is always an exciting event on the school calendar!

     This week the children in the Infants has been learning lots of new literacy skills and enjoying their favourite Fairy Tales.

    On Thursday they held a special assembly in their fancy dress costumes and shared their work on the classes' chosen fairy tales, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, The Three Little Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood. 

    Mr Rice presented books as prizes the winners of the 'Best dressed Competition'.

    KEQMS started their season brightly and put in a promising performance against a QEGS side missing some of their stronger players. Josh Clayton opened the scoring with two goals before Umar Bux went close with a volley, after a lovely build up featuring the impressive Callum Hendry. Hendry continued to pull the strings throughout the first half, claiming a goal for himself and making another for Sam Proctor.

    The juniors have taken part in their Verse Speaking Competition. Each class held heats to find the lucky six people who would go forward to the school final.

    Each class member had to learn and recite a poem and make it exciting to listen to.

    We invited Ms D Carsons , Drama Consultant and Creative Practitioner, into school to help judge our competition and she had a very enjoyable morning.

    STOP PRESS - INVITATION TO THE OLYMPICS

    The school is organising a visit to the 2012 London Olympic Games. The trip includes tickets to two events (the Women's Football Final and a full morning of Women's Hockey) and an overnight stay in London (Eton College or University of Surrey). The cost of the trip is £350 per person and this covers:-

    KEQMS Football Season starts with a BANG!!!

    The KEQMS U15 football season started with a short journey to Arnold School, with the weather keeping all involved on their toes.

    KEQMS started the game slowly and rather nervously, Mr Clarke asked the players to look to try and pass the ball around and be confident in possession of the ball. A momentary lack of concentration allowed Arnold to sneak through the defence to take the lead.

    King Edward VII & Queen Mary School U12 football team played host to Arnold School on Friday 27th Jan 2012. The team packed with experience looked nervous before the game, but all those butterflies disappeared on the sound of the whistle.
