A level success across the board

At King Edward VII and Queen Mary School, there was 100% pass rate at A level, excluding General Studies, and over 60% of the results were at A*, A and B grades. Seven students achieved four or more A grades and the vast majority gained places at their first choice university. Destinations include Oxford University, the London School of Economics, Bristol, Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield and Newcastle Universities. The Principal, Robert Karling, congratulated all the students and drew attention to the successes not just of the top academic students but also to the excellent results across the ability range: "I am delighted that the hard work of this gifted cohort of pupils has been rewarded by places at universities of their choice. Since there is intense pressure for places in higher education, it is reassuring to know that university selectors look for good all round students who work hard and also play sport, perform in drama and music and take part in activities like the Duke of Edinburgh Award."
