Tim's off to Scotland

Ex pupil, Tim Edmundson is delighted to have been secured a place to study singing at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Glasgow. Tim left King Edward VII & Queen Mary School in July 2011 and is currently spending a gap year before he begins his Bmus Honours Course later this year.

Tim joined KEQMS in 2005 as a music scholar. During his time here he has contributed a great deal to the musical life of the school, from playing the trombone in the KEQMS Swing Band, singing in numerous choirs and taking part in plays and musicals. Tim also attends the Royal Northern College of Music Junior Department and for the past two years has been member of the National Youth Choir of Great Britain.

"I was delighted to have been given an unconditional offer on the day of my audition at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland which I was thrilled to accept. The RCS has a fantastic reputation of producing some of the finest singers and this is something I really wanted to be apart of. Glasgow is a fantastic city and it presents many opportunities for me to perform and expand my experiences. I cannot thank enough the music staff at KEQMS for all their hard work and time they have given me to help me succeed." said Tim.

Director of Music, Mr John Pennington said, "It has been a privilege to have taught Tim over these last 6 years and see his musical skills develop. Gaining a place at such a prestigious conservatoire is a testament to Tim's hard work and outstanding musicianship. It is always very satisfying to see our students achieve their aspirations. I wish him the very best."
