Audrey Howard (QM 1940-1947)

Born in1929, Audrey Howard (née Worthington, above right) is a very successful romantic novelist, the author of 36 books which have sold all over the world. Her books, set in the Nineteenth Century and early to mid Twentieth Century, feature family sagas, heroines and strong women who fight for their rights. Following publication of her fourth book, ‘The Juniper Bush', Audrey Howard was Romantic Novelist of the Year in 1988. She was short listed for the Foster Grant Romantic novelist of the Year Award in 2006.
