Foundation

The KEQMS Foundation exists to support the development of King Edward VII and Queen Mary School and to maintain its position as a leading independent school, academically, in sport and the performing arts. The school's aims are to inspire each individual boy and girl to fulfil his or her personal potential in and out of the classroom.

Scholarships & Bursaries

Generations of boys and girls received a very fine education at KES and QMS either through state funded places or assistance from the Lytham Schools Charity. Now that places at the school are totally fee paying, the only help for students is through bursaries and scholarships provided by the investment income of the Lytham Schools Charity. Most beneficiaries of awards pay something towards the cost of education.
The School wishes to be able to offer means tested bursaries so that any student, including those from the very poorest section of society, may attend provided he or she meets the academic standards of the school. The focus is on widening access so that all parts of the community can take advantage of the education provided by the school. The School wishes to raise substantial funds for means tested scholarships and bursaries, which will be awarded according to ability to pay. In this way, we hope to make a real difference to the lives of young people from all walks of life. Provide a bursary place

Facilities

The school also has ambitious development plans to ensure that the young people at KEQMS enjoy the very best facilities and opportunities to excel academically and in extra-curricular activities such as sport, music, drama and outdoor pursuits. The Development Plan identifies several major capital projects which will ensure that KEQMS has facilities and resources superior to any other school on the Fylde.

The first of these capital projects is the modernisation of the science facilities so that all our laboratories enjoy modern specification.

We also wish to improve facilities for the performing arts by converting the gym into a multi purpose facility for drama, dance and gym. Such a facility will provide outstanding opportunities for students in this creative area of the curriculum.

Most ambitious of all are the plans to develope our sports facilities by building an outstanding modern complex consisting of changing rooms, a fitness suite, cricket gallery, function room and two indoor sports areas.

Such amibtion will require the school to raise significant funds and will only be realised if it is matched by the generosity of former pupils, parents and friends.

How to give.
