Careers

The Head of Careers is a full time Careers and Higher Education specialist; the Department was rated as excellent at the last Inspection. Every student in Years 9, 11, 12 and 13 receives individual guidance interviews. Lower Sixth students are encouraged to do work experience in the summer holidays and the Department help to find placements. There is a biannual Careers Evening for parents and sixth fomers in May. Visits are arranged to Oxford and Lancaster Universities and students are encouraged to attend university open days. Each year one or two sixth formers go straight to employment, the vast majority to their first choice universities.
