Learning Support

At King Edward VII and Queen Mary School, the special educational needs of our pupils are met through the work of the Learning Support department and subject teachers.

We believe that all our students have skills, talents and abilities and that we have a responsibility to develop these to the full. Students with special educational needs are supported to help them achieve full access to the whole school curriculum.

Support is offered to students, across all year groups, in a variety of ways. Some of our students receive timetabled learning support lessons in which the focus is on developing literacy skills which are used across the curriculum. Others receive in-class support in a number of lessons. Some students also receive one to one support on an occasional basis, as and when necessary.

Any student who feels they need help with any aspect of their studies is encouraged to go to the Learning Support room to discuss how the department can help them.
