Year 12 Psychology Curriculum Plan
Psychology is the scientific study of behaviour. It is concerned with the thoughts, feelings and motivations that underlie the way we act. The AS course will consist of six units which will include these areas and will try to answer the following questions.
- Key Approaches - What is Psychology? Who had the most influence in Psychology - Wundt, Darwin, Freud, Skinner and Rogers?
The British Psychological Society - Research Methods - What are the different methods used in psychology? How do you conduct your own piece of research? What are the ethics of psychological research?
Online Psychology Research UK - Studying Gender - What is the difference between sex and gender? Are males and females biologically different, but psychologically the same? Do different cultures share our gender roles?
Social Psychology Network - Social Influence - What is conformity? Why do we conform? What factors affect obedience? Why and when will we defy authority?
