Year 7 Learning Support Curriculum Plan
Overview
The School works on the principle that a 'whole-school' approach is the most appropriate and effective way of providing for students with special educational needs. All Departments accept responsibility, and with the support of the Learning Support Department, make provision for the needs of students with SEN.
In Year 7 students in need of extra Learning Support are taught in a small group by a member of the Learning Support team. These students may also receive in-class support from the Classroom Assistant.
All Year 7 students who receive extra Learning Support will have an Individual Education Plan and are regularly assessed to monitor their needs and progress.
Within the Learning Support Department we take a multi-sensory approach to learning. We also encourage the use of Brain Gym and Music for Learning.
