Year 8 German Curriculum Plan
YEAR 8 GERMAN
From 2009 students will study French and either German or Spanish for 3 ½ hours per fortnight. They continue with the introductory courses taught as part of the 3 language carousel in Y7, but in Y8 students will also have the relevant textbook as well as the workbook. Extensive use continues to be made of Boardworks, together with OUP multi-media materials and other software.
Students should complete Book 1 of the relevant course and depending on the speed of progress may start Book 2.
Assessment tests in Listening Comprehension, Reading Comprehension, and Writing will be held towards the end of the Autumn Term and again in the Summer Term. There will be a Speaking Test conducted in March. All tests results will then be collated in June to enable an accurate appraisal of all students' progress.
