Years 10 and 11 Learning Support Curriculum Plan

Overview
The School works on the principle that a 'whole-school' approach is the most appropriate way of providing for students with special educational needs. All Departments accept responsibility, and with the support of the Learning Support Department, make provision for the needs of students with SEN.

In Years 10 & 11 students in need of extra Learning Support are taught in a small group by a member of the Learning Support team.

Those who choose to can opt to study French - working towards an Entry Level Certificate qualification. Those who do not opt to do French will receive extra mathematics tuition.

All Year 10 & 11 students who receive Learning Support will have an Individual Education Plan and are regularly assessed to monitor their needs and progress.

Within the Learning Support Department we take a multi-sensory approach to learning. We also encourage the use of Brain Gym and Music for Learning.
