Infant children all brought their bears to school lat week for a Teddy Bear's Barbecue. The children also took part in a sponsored event to raise funds for Paddinton Bear's favourite charity, Action Medical Research. They collected tiny items and fitted them into Paddington's suitcase (a matchbox). The winner was Archie, from Year 1 with an amazing 91 items!

Paddington made a special appearance in the afternoon too!

Action Medical Research is the leading UK-wide medical research charity dedicated to helping babies and children.By helping to fund children’s medical research they help sick and seriously ill children like seven-year-old Alfie Oakley who has had as many strokes as birthdays. Although strokes are normally associated with adults, Alfie suffered his first stroke when he was just two.
Action Medical Research is funding a study to find out why some children suffer strokes. The study also aims to develop a new blood test to help identify which children are at risk of repeated strokes. Doctors hope it will pave the way for better treatments that will help reduce the suffering of children like Alfie.
