It was the turn of Year 5 pupils to leave Mum and Dad at home and head off for an action packed weekend recently, as they enjoyed a residential visit to Winmarleigh Hall.
Setting off on Friday, heading for the unexpected adventures that PGL had waiting for them, the Year 5 pupils were in good spirit. For many, it was the first time that they had been away from home in the company of their classmates and teachers and such an excursion is all part of the growing up process.
The weekend was full of action activities that pushed the physical and probably more importantly, the mental strength of the children. Many of the activities are designed to look far more daunting than they really are and they often demand that moment of trust either in ones own ability, or that of a partner. Once the decision is made, the reward is usually great, and not easily forgotten.
As they came into school on Monday morning the excited chatter was testimony to the great time and experiences they had enjoyed. The only problem for parents is that they will probably expect the family holiday to be just as action packed!
