An Ideal Environment for Children in the early years

The Nursery for children from 2 to 4 years is housed in a bright, modern and secure building superbly designed around the needs of the children. Girls and boys receive individual attention from our experienced staff. The daily routine is varied and fulfils the themes and principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage: children learn through play as well as structured activities such as arts and crafts, role play, music, IT, PE and construction. Supervised use of the extensive outdoor spaces at the school and nutritionally balanced meals promote their physical development. Life in the Nursery is stimulating, fun and designed to encourage the children to explore and about learn the world within a caring and safe environment.

The pre-school classroom is located next door to the Nursery and within the Infants building. The classroom is organised into activity areas and there is also a conservatory leading to a dedicated outdoor play area. Whilst toilet facilities are at hand, the children enjoy access to all the facilities and resources of the Infants, including the IT suite and outdoor spaces, hall and dining room.

The Perfect Start to Life

Children at this stage become familiar with school life with the nurture and support that is central to the ethos of the school and to their personal development. Taking account of starting points, the staff will begin reading, writing and basic number skills with children on an individual basis so that they are fully prepared to take the step to full-time education.
Small class sizes and highly qualified and experienced staff ensure that all children are encouraged, supported and challenged from the earliest age. Learning through practical activities and play, both in the classroom and outside, the pupils have the best possible foundation for their future development.
