Transition to Seniors

Continuity is one of the reasons parents chose a KEQMS education. Year 6 is a transitional year in which pupils go to the Senior School for lessons with secondary teachers in Science, Art, French, Music and PE. They learn from subject specialists in laboratories, multimedia rooms, studios and on sports pitches that are not available to their counterparts in local primary schools.

The vast majority of pupils and their parents see the move to the Senior School as a seamless transition. We do not require Year 6 students to sit the Entrance Examination on the grounds that we already know the abilities of our pupils very well. Nevertheless, each year a good number of Year 6 students win academic, music and sport scholarships to the Senior School. Our pupils graduate from the Preparatory School having had the very best foundation both academically and in their personal development.
