Celebrations at King Edward VII and Queen Mary School

Nearly half of the GCSE results at King Edward VII and Queen Mary School were at the top level, with 47% of the grades awarded being at A* and A. Thirteen pupils achieved the clean sweep of A*s and As in every subject, including identical twins Joy and Carol Edwards, who picked up 15 A*s and 5 A grades between them! The results in English and Science were particularly pleasing: there was a 93% pass rate from A* to C in English and 97% pass rate from A* to C in the Science subjects. Five subjects enjoyed 100% pass rates from A* to C grades. Principal Robert Karling was delighted by the strong performance at GCSE level: "These results are just reward for the hard work of the students and their teachers. We can expect to maintain the excellent quality of our Sixth Form when this cohort moves on to A level study. The future at KEQMS is very bright."
