Day 18 - Tuesday 3rd August
After the relaxing day yesterday it was off on the next leg of the tour, to Saint Kentigern's in Auckland. The group, now expert at packing, were all ready on time for the coach, and our driver Peter, who had driven us from Queenstown to Christchurch and to Kaikoura, started the task of getting all the cases into the coach!! Definitely not an easy feat and certainly it helped to be good at puzzles!
The coach packed, it was off to the airport for the flight from Christchurch to Auckland. The group, now expert at attaching their own luggage labels, checked in quickly but Alex Grindrod and James Pemberton did have to empty their main cases and juggle their luggage around as they were too heavy!!! Perhaps the extra weight was due to presents bought for family and friends at home?
The flight was a short, uneventful one although once on the ground we realised how lucky we were to land as the earlier fog had closed the airport in the morning. The coach then took us to our next hosts Saint Kentigern's College. We were greeted with an impressive school with facilities to die for! We were green with envy as they showed us around their sports hall with spectator gallery, additional gym, dance studio, astro-pitch, covered astro area, tennis courts, and fantastic sports lounge overlooking the 1st team rugby pitch!!! It certainly will be a great place to play rugby and hockey tomorrow. The tourists were introduced to their billets and then it was off for the evening. Tomorrow sees us play our last matches of the 2010 tour and the boys and girls will hope to end the tour on a high with good performances and hopefully wins!
