Exam Results
The 2009 A level results were very pleasing. Excluding General Studies, the pass rate was 100% for the third year running with nearly 70 % of the results at A and B grades - an improvement on last year's excellent results. All three students who received offers from Oxford University secured the top grades they needed and altogether ten students achieved three or more A grades. In addition to Oxford, destinations include Durham University, Imperial College and the London School of Economics for competitive courses such as Medicine, Dentistry and Accountancy.
The results at GCSE were as pleasing as they were at A level. Ten students achieved nine or more A* and A grades; over 40% of the results were A* and A grades, with results in Maths and the Sciences particularly strong. Over a fifth of the candidates achieved an average GCSE points score of nine or more A* and A grades. Top of the class was Aneesha Chauhan, who achieved an A* in every subject. Jasmin Parkinson achieved A*s in ten subjects. However, the staff were delighted by the achievements of students across the ability range. The percentage of pupils achieving five passes from A* to C grade was 94%, so the vast majority of candidates will progress seamlessly to A level or alternative courses.
