About KEQMS Sixth Form

Leadership and Service

Universities and employers not only look for examination success but also for evidence of personal qualities and wider achievement, so the development of leadership skills is one of the strongest aspects of the KEQMS Sixth Form. There are many opportunities to exercise leadership, for example through the Sixth Form Council, the House system or as peer tutors to younger pupils. Helping younger pupils in Maths and English clinics, passing on skills in sports practices or the Duke of Edinburgh Award, as well as assisting with routine duties and at school functions, are just some examples of the ways in which students' personal development is fostered through service. Another popular activity is Young Enterprise, where students work together to run their own company and at the same time develop skills sought in the business world. Not surprisingly, our students leave school as balanced young adults prepared to lead lives of creativity, purpose and fulfilment.
