The Sixth Form prepares students for life at university and the world beyond. Students now work more independently and have special privileges, such as their own Common Room and a distinctive uniform. There are many opportunities to exercise leadership, for example through the Sixth Form Council or as peer tutors to junior pupils. Private study and computing facilities are modern and abundant; extra-curricular activities are numerous, vibrantly led and available to all our students.
Most students take four or five subjects to AS level in the Lower Sixth and three or four to A2 level in the Upper Sixth. However, we offer combinations and courses to suit all abilities and aspirations: there are over twenty subjects from which to choose.
We provide full support for each individual through extra tuition, pastoral care or careers guidance. The Head of Sixth Form is supported by a team of tutors who see students daily and supervise individual academic and personal progress. The Assistant Head of Sixth Form is a fully trained Careers and Higher Education Adviser who works with each sixth former individually. Most sixth formers proceed to higher education at leading universities.
The Sixth Form at KEQMS is a demanding, lively and focused environment. Our students leave school as balanced young adults prepared to lead lives of creativity, purpose and fulfilment.
