Having beaten Stockport GS in the last game, KEQMS knew that King's School Macclesfield would be difficult opponents. The opposition won the toss and chose to bat amassing 164 runs in their 30 overs.
Coach Mr Richard Chester takes up the story, "We managed to drop a couple of catches that most octogenarians would have swallowed but we were confident that if we batted sensibly we could win. Messer's Mackenzie, Cartmell, Dunlop and Maddox all bowled tidily.
All the batsmen were positive and we were always up with the required run rate. Chris Cartmell scored a brisk 37 before missing the "mystery" ball - a straight one! Captain David Maddox batted well, top scoring with 45 and Myles Dunlop, Kieran Kelly and Cameron Stubbs all chipped in. The winning run came in the 28th over.
Well done to the team. These two victories bode well for next season."
