LEAGUE CHAMPIONS

Year 10 A team Won 30 - 8
POM - Ellie Curtis

The Year 9 went into the game undefeated knowing that a win would secure top spot in the league and this appeared to make all the players very nervous. The first half did not go well with us not being at our best. Misplaced passes, poor shooting and generally disjointed play allowed Carr Hill to match us goal for goal and at the break we were only 6 - 5 ahead. After the break the nerves settled and we started to play the flowing netball that has characterised our season. Excellent play in centre court by Captain Emily Grey and Nicole Brown linked our defending end , where Darley Harrison was outstanding and attacking ends, where Eleanor Sharples shot well so by the final whistle we had forged ahead to a 19 - 6 win. A superb second half performance secured this win and so the Year 9 can celebrate being crowned Fylde & Wyre South League Champions.

The Year 10 also maintained their undefeated run and stay on track for the Year 10 league title. We dominated from the first centre, proving too strong in every department and by the break we were 16 - 1 ahead. Excellent play and shooting by Ellie Curtis earned her the best player award and by the final whistle we had scored and impressive 30 goals, our highest of the season!
